Ashley Parker Snider ~ Owner / Proprietor
While representing the Fess Parker Winery at consumer and trade events around the country the comment Ashley hears most often is “you know, I grew up with your dad.” It’s heartwarming to Ashley that even after her dad’s passing in March of 2010 people are still eager to share their memories of him.
Ashley is practically a Santa Barbara native having moved here at the age of two. She attended Bishop Diego High School but chose to venture east to attend Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where she graduated with a B.A. in English in 1986.
A college internship in Washington D.C. led to a position as a Trip Coordinator in the Office of Presidential Advance following graduation. At the close of the Reagan Administration, Ashley was offered a position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development working in Jack Kemp’s Office of Public Affairs. Ultimately however, Ashley’s sense of family duty kicked in and she returned home to California to work in the family’s fledgling wine business, marry and start a family in 1991.
Over the last 26 years Ashley has been involved in all facets of the sales and marketing functions of the winery. Ashley frequently travels to markets all across the country to work with the winery’s network of distributors and brokers, contributes regularly to the quarterly newsletter and helps coordinate special events and donations at the winery. She did take a two-year hiatus from the family business in 2010 when she took the position of Director of Admission and Public Relations at her alma mater, Bishop Diego High School.
Currently Ashley is enjoying working with her family and the rest of the Fespar team to complete her father’s vision for the waterfront in Santa Barbara. Ashley and her husband Tim Snider are also enjoying watching their three children, Spencer (23), Greer (21) and Henry (17) grow and develop their own talents and interests.
Ashley is a former member of the Board of Directors of Direct Relief and currently serves on the boards of the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, Bishop Diego High School, Life Chronicles and The Channel City Club. She is an avid tennis player and recovering golfer.
